What on Earth does a football fan do, when his or her club suddenly disappears, the club which he or she has supported maybe for decades? Go shopping on a Saturday afternoon? Switch allegiances to another team? Stay at home and watch Sky TV? This is a problem which will never confront most football fans. Thankfully. But once in a while it happens. And on 20th June 2007 it happened to Scarborough Football Club. Whilst some fans are making the trek to Bridlington to see the newly-formed Scarborough Athletic play in the Northern Counties East, First Division, other fans prefer not to. So what are they doing? Have they become Whitby Town fans? Hull City, Leeds United or Middlesbrough fans? It's an individual choice, of course. Had Boro survived their crisis, they would have played in the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League (also known as the UniBond League). So some Boro fans are spending the season ground-hopping, visiting the Northern Premier League grounds and making new friends. Or going to clubs where former Boro favourites are now playing. And visiting all the Yorkshire teams in the Football League. And maybe they'll go even further afield. Following Scarborough Football Club around the country was always a great experience, whatever the result. The club boasted some of the most loyal fans in football. Therefore fans of Scarborough Football Club are holding mini-reunions throughout the season in different locations. If you want to join them or find out more, contact us by email via this site's Home page or go to the "Seadogs Groundhopping Tour" page. If you have a blank Saturday, one of the links below will give directions to reach various clubs in Conference North or UniBond League in case you fancy a trip elsewhere.
